Wohlgemerkt: keine Entschuldigung dafür, dass Amazon seinem Kindle einen Lösch-Befehl eingebaut hat. Keine Entschuldigung für Farm der Tiere oder Harry Potter. Keine Entschuldigung dafür, dass Amazon eine Plattform gebaut hat, in der windige Anbieter mal eben Raubkopien einstellen können.
Das „scar tissue“ ist die Erkenntnis, dass E-Books von Amazon eine Leihgabe und nicht etwa Eigentum sind – auch wenn der gnädige Lehnsherr in Zukunft noch großzügiger zu sein verspricht.
